I really had a fun experience in Mowelfund. In the
orientation, I was surprised that 65% of the money from Metro Manila Film
Festival is given to Mowelfund.
There, I got the chance to see and hold the camera that is
used before in early Filipino films. I also got the chance to sit in the
director’s chair.
At Mowelfund, I saw the list of works of Brocka, Bernal and
other Filipino directors. Their awards, trophies and medals are also placed
near their pictures.
I also love the painting in the walss of Fernando Poe, Jr.’s
different character in his movies. I also saw the mini statue of Panday inside
FPJ’s hall.
As we go through inside the Mowelfund, the history of the
Philippines was first discussed to us. Antonio Ramos and Cine Walgrah’s images
are on the walls. The first movie houses are also there. Cine Walgrah is the
first movie house here in the Philippines and Antonio Ramos first brought a
movie here in our country.
While going to the second floor, we first step into the
stairs of the stars where the names of early actors and actresses are listed in
every step. And for me, that’s a pretty cool idea for the Mowelfund visitors.
I also got the chance to see the dresses and costumes of
different actors and actresses like Vilma Santos’ Darna. The dresses that are
used in the awards night are also put there and I’m amazed that their waistlines
are much smaller than mine.
